About
EdD-trained STEM Educator with 20+ years of Experience Helping Students Build Real Academic Confidence
Dr. Christopher Miller is a native and current resident of Houston, Texas. A product of the Houston Independent School District, Dr. Miller developed an early appreciation for mathematics that was nurtured by excellent teachers. He then obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Houston, where he served as an undergraduate teaching assistant for calculus for three of his four years. Upon graduation, Dr. Miller served as director of the Scholar Enrichment Program – a retention program designed to provide academic supports for students majoring in the sciences, technology, engineering, and/or mathematics. While he has primarily held administrative roles focused on undergraduate retention and student success, Dr. Miller has also taught high school and college mathematics, tutored students at all levels (from second grade through college), and worked with the New York Academy of Sciences and Texas Education Agency.
Having a strong commitment to life-long learning and personal development, Dr. Miller achieved a Master of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Florida Atlantic University and a Doctor of Education in STEM Education Enhancement from the University of Missouri – St Louis to enhance his skills and knowledge. He continues to look for opportunities to grow through structured educational opportunities (formal or informal) that will keep him connected to student needs and assist in developing additional skills to continue to serve the Houston area.
